Our Organic Onion (পেঁয়াজ) is cultivated without synthetic pesticides or chemical fertilizers on naturally fertile farmland in Rajshahi and Faridpur — the heart of Bangladesh's onion-growing belt. Onions are the aromatic foundation of nearly every Bangladeshi dish, and the quality of the onion dramatically determines the depth of flavor in a curry's base. Our organic onions are larger, denser, and more pungent than commercially grown alternatives, reflecting the natural mineral richness of organically managed soil. Rich in quercetin — a powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compound — as well as sulfur compounds, chromium, and vitamin C, onions support cardiovascular health, lower blood sugar, have natural antibiotic properties, and may reduce the risk of certain cancers. Quercetin in particular has been extensively studied for its ability to reduce blood pressure and LDL cholesterol. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place away from direct sunlight.
